Rangers will learn their full 2026/27 Scottish Premiership fixture schedule on Thursday, June 18 at 12 noon, when the SPFL confirms the opening-day and full-season calendar ahead of the new campaign.

The new season is set to begin on the weekend of August 1/2. With Rangers expected to start away from home as champions Celtic traditionally open their campaign at Celtic Park.

They face Europa League fixtures on August 6 and August 13. With opponents to be confirmed.

Danny Rohl’s side will face a familiar domestic slate. Including Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Dundee, Dundee United, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, St. Mirren, Falkirk and St. Johnstone following promotion and relegation changes.

Livingston have dropped out of the top flight, replaced by St. Johnstone, who return after winning the Championship.

There will also be an extended international break early next season.

Rangers look forward to new Premiership season

Rangers head into the new season looking to respond to a disappointing 2025/26 campaign in which they finished ten points behind champions Celtic and eight behind runners-up Hearts following a late season collapse in form.

Despite that, the club have already begun reshaping the squad. Rohl securing the signing of Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland. While long-serving skipper James Tavernier has departed Ibrox after 11 years.

The fixture release will also mark the first opportunity to map out early-season challenges for Rohl’s side. Who will be aiming to re-establish momentum after an inconsistent previous year.

Recent history against newly promoted St. Johnstone will offer some encouragement, with Rangers winning all three meetings in the 2024/25 season under Philippe Clement.

With pre-season preparations already under way, attention will now turn to how the opening months of the campaign are structured, with early away fixtures and Old Firm scheduling expected to be key talking points once the fixtures are confirmed.
