  • Bojan Miovski says Rangers operate under relentless pressure, with “only first place” acceptable for supporters.
  • Striker admits he has never played at a club where winning trophies is demanded every season like at Ibrox.
  • Former Aberdeen forward insists squad is motivated to end Rangers’ wait for a league title since 2021.

Gers forward Bojan Miovski has underlined the scale of expectation at Rangers, admitting the club’s culture demands silverware every season as he reflected on the pressure of competing at Ibrox following another trophyless campaign.

The 26-year-old, who joined Rangers last summer, says the standards set by the club’s history and support base leave no margin for underperformance. With anything short of first place effectively unacceptable in the eyes of supporters.

No one at Ibrox is satisfied with a second consecutive season without silverware. Miovski acknowledged he has quickly come to understand the intensity that defines life at Rangers.

“Each and every club has its own ambitions and carries a different kind of pressure,” he told Flashscore.

“At Rangers, we’ve a massive fan base worldwide. Judging by the rich history and the titles that we’ve won in the past, the standard is set at a high level. One where you’re constantly being asked to win silverware.”

He added that the expectation to challenge for honours is unlike anything he has previously experienced in his career.

“Until now, I haven’t played in a club where there is an ambition to fight for a title every season,” Miovski said.

Bojan Miovski on dominance being Rangers’ ‘bare minimum’

For the striker, the message from both inside and outside the dressing room is clear. Dominance, not just competition, is the baseline requirement.

“The bare minimum for Rangers should be to dominate in matches and when you’re a part of this club, you only think about winning trophies,” he said.

“The fans live for that, they live for Rangers to lift the league, to win the cup and to dominate. Which is normal as the club’s culture is like that.”

Miovski also stressed how unforgiving the standings are in the context of Rangers’ ambitions, with little distinction made between finishing second or lower mid-table.

“You have huge pressure and finishing second or third is the same as finishing seventh for Rangers,” he said.

“The fans are only interested in the first place and to be honest, that’s really how it should be.”

Bojan Miovski wants to win Ibrox league title

The North Macedonia international admitted the disappointment of recent seasons has only strengthened internal motivation to turn things around.

“It’s frustrating for everyone at the club. The last league title was won back in 2021, but we’re motivated as a squad to give our best and change that,” he added.

Rangers head into the new campaign under pressure to respond after falling short once again, with expectations at Ibrox remaining as high as ever as the rebuild under Danny Rohl continues.

The forward however, refused to “rule out” a summer exit from Govan. He faces added competition for a starting place from new signing Lawrence Shankland.

The former Hearts skipper has joined Miovski, Ryan Naderi, Youssef Chermiti and Danilo in the Ibrox front line. However, the Brazilian is likely to depart this summer.
